I’ve found Swann to be a wonderful French teacher. They are patient, inspiring and flexible about teaching me in the way that suits me best. They also correct my halting French in a very supportive manner that makes me feel confident to keep trying. I recommend Swann very highly.

I have been learning French with Swann for over 10 years now.

I found them to have a love for language and a comprehensive knowledge of grammar. I also found them to be a speaker of excellent English with a good sense of humour. I like their relaxed friendly manner and the way they have allowed me to progress at my own pace without pressure, patiently correcting my pronunciation and grammatical errors and encouraging me, although they are not a walk-over – one must study between sessions.

They encourage the use of high standard text books and use additional learning methods to enhance listening skills.

Swann scans the internet and has provided me with some useful sites for additional learning. I like that they take their position seriously and teach, what I would call, ‘proper’ French grammar and sentence construction before allowing the use of the ‘familiar’. Thanks to Swann I was recently told in France that I speak very good French – this is not yet true, but the French love to see you try.

I began lessons with Swann after many years in a French class of 8 or more students. Initially I found the experience daunting but Swann put me at ease very quickly. I find their explanations of grammar and the use of the French language unequaled. I have learnt more in 2 years with a one to one session then I have in eight years in a class.
